Just Malcolm and Tony turned up for today’s ride. Alastair’s bike was still broken, and Andy was feeling a bit broken himself after a sleepless night dealing with the trials and tribulations of his 3 young children!
The temperature was a chilly minus 2 Celcius, but a climb up Leckhampton Hill via Daisybank did its bit to warm up the riders. Once onto the trails, it was a pleasant surprise to find that the ground (and mud) was frozen solid, and nothing like the Somme-like conditions of last week at Cleeve Hill.
The result was an excellent mud-free ride done in record time, returning back to the start point by 10 am. No need to clean the bikes afterwards either, a rare treat for this time of the year!
